Everyone knows that part of being a publicist is having great connects-particulary in the media. You're always trying to meet new people, networking and staying on top of industry trends. You have to be creative and think out of the box. I am proud to say that the publicists here in Atlanta are some of the most talented and innovative PR pros on the planet. Many of them inspire me to do better and be competitive.
Anyway, it's always good to get out and catch up with fellow publicists and those in the industry. On January 28th, I attended an indusrty mixer hosted by my good friend Autumn Essie Bailey-Ford (Autumn Bailey Entertainment). The event is titled "Get Connected" and it is held the lastThursday of the month. This past month it was held at Gordon Biersch on Peachtree St. The event was PACKED! But, that was a good thing because I made a lot of good connections and like I said, it was good to get out and network. If you are in the Atlanta area, I advise you to come to the next "Get Connected" event. It's definitely worth it.Check out the "Get Connected" Facebook page here!
On Feburary 12th, I had the pleasure of attending the "Women on the Move-Feel Love, Show Love, Honor Love," event at the Mason Murer gallery. The event honored women who are on the move in their respective fields. The event was all about recognizing the positivity of women and about women being empowered. Women like Mrs. Evelyn Jackson (widow of former Atlanta mayor Maynard Jackson), and radio personality (and my Soror) Rashan Ali were among those honored.
I had such a good time at the event because of the people who were there. Ed and Lisa Wu Hartwell, Dwight Eubanks, Mychael Knight, Roger Bobb and last but not least, celebrity stylist/PR pro from RHOA-Tracy Sipp.
